“We are so lucky to have met Leah! Before boarding, Flex had a lot of issues. These includes reacting to strangers, resource guarding, territorial, no basic obedience and not being able to “just chill”. It was very emotional for me to drop Flex off for 6 weeks but I got daily updates from Leah. The videos and pics of him doing so well made it even more worth it! She’s patient and understanding. She’s also very informative and taught me so much. Now, I am able to take my best friend to public places and let him experience his life to the fullest. He gets along great with my husband and hasn’t had any reactions to strangers. Being able to give him the opportunity to explore with me has never been easier. We appreciate Leah so much.
“Leah is my 3rd try at a dog trainer so I had very little expectations. But she has not only met my expectations but exceeded them. From her assessment of our dog and the guidance she gave us I couldn’t believe the difference I was experiencing. Within just 2 days my dog went from an obnoxious, leash pulling, urinating on every bush, crazy at “home and fence fighter to calm on the leash, calm in the home, and overall a completely different and much much much better dog that actually wants to please us. I was hesitant because my dog is a working dog and didn’t believe anyone had the answers for us. She has done her research and puts all her efforts (into a personal plan) of helping you tame your dog. I recommend her a thousand percent, don’t even think about going anywhere else! Since Leah can turn around a highly intelligent, giant 112 pound “working” dog, think what she can do for you and yours!”
"Leah Gordon is a phenomenal trainer! When we first met with Leah, we were impressed. She sat at a table with us and discussed the program. She listened to us about how our Great Dane, Colt, was behaving. She explained to us about what could be causing his bad behavior and made suggestions about what we could change to help him. Colt had been through obedience school. But he was still headstrong and out of control. Leah involved all three of us in the program and completely turned him around. She patiently made sure we understood what we were doing and why. That we had a good grasp of the situation before she turned him loose with us. With her knowledge, guidance and suggestions, he is a completely different dog!! She is an exceptional trainer, dedicated and professional. We are so thankful we found her!! We all Highly Recommend Leah to anyone wanting their dog to be obedient and well behaved!! We would definitely have her train us and another dog again!!"
"Leah is amazing! She is so helpful and had so much insight for both our family and our puppy when we brought him home. We have been working with Leah for the last 1 1/2 years and we couldn't be happier. Leah has helped us understand the way dogs think and process information as well as teach us how to handle situations as they arise... making us better pet owners. Leah has helped us work through many different stages as our dog has grown including leash walking, proper manners, eye contact permission, house rules, obedience and a fear stage our dog went through. Leah provided us with so much useful information and tools to help us get through any tough stage or behavioral issue that came up and she was always available and willing to help. Since we have started working with Leah, we have a different point of view on dogs and how they process information, honestly a whole new perspective. We absolutely adore Leah and would highly recommend her to anyone that not only is having issues but just wants to better their relationship with their dog. We couldn't imagine working with anyone else and currently still have sessions with Leah. Hands down I would recommend Leah to everyone and anyone!"
"Last Fall, my family and I adopted a 4-month-old great pyrenees puppy named Lily. Lily is sweet and good with kids. She also was unwaveringly independent, non-responsive to voice commands and tended to wander out of our yard. It became evident that she was more than we could handle. Our goals were to have Lily stay within our property boundaries (about 12 acres worth of land) and to have her under voice control. We began our training with Leah. She is knowledgeable, patient and effective. With her help, Lily successfully became e-collar trained. Lily is now very responsive to voice commands and stays within our property boundaries. As an added bonus, her relationship with our family has deepened and she has become much more pack-oriented and loyal. Leah gave us the tools, knowledge and encouragement to help us reach our goals. We are grateful for what she has done for our pooch, and I would highly recommend Leah to anyone who needs a little (or a lot) of help with theirs."
"Leah was incredible in helping me with some behavioral changes I wanted to make with my dog Harper. Harper has some sporadic anxiety-based reactive behaviors, and I didn't always trust her to make the best decisions when walking by other dogs on a leash or with strangers entering the home. Basic treat-based training wasn't effective when I really needed it to be, and I was stressed about her behavior in some situations. Leah talked me through how basic environmental factors and inherent dog instincts drive behavior and how to tap into those aspects with training. After a few sessions with Leah, she was able to help me make routine changes within the home to make Harper calmer (who knew allowing your dog stare out the window and bark at passing dogs all day was increasing her reactiveness!), teach me training strategies that work her mind as well as provide physical exercise, which collectively reduced my stress and allows Harper and I to have more fun together. The biggest thing was that I really trusted Leah with my sensitive dog, and she tailored her approach to Harper's needs. I would highly recommend Leah to anyone who wants to see holistic behavior changes and learn more about what makes your dog happy and healthy!"
"Leah has been a great help for our dog Mud. We adopted him from another home when they weren't able to walk him and help get his energy out. We also struggled with him pulling at the leash, jumping at doors and with visitors, and acting sometimes aggressively with other dogs. We were starting a family and a bit concerned about how our high energy dog would do with a new baby. Leah helped us figure our own dog out, help him be happy, and most importantly train him how to be a good fit with our family, neighbors, and lifestyle. We've learned how to walk him (no more pulling!), hike with him (the eCollar training with Leah was great), and keep him happy and relaxed at home. Through a combination of learning new tools, pack walks, and training us (ok, mostly training us), Leah has helped us enjoy living with Mud again, and helped him be happy with us.
"I have had rescue dogs all my life and thought I had a good handle on training my dogs, until I got one that I needed help with. After working with Leah my dogs' baseline demeaner is much calmer. I was struggling with my dog having too much reactivity to other dogs and Leah was able to give me all the tools I needed to deal with this. She taught me how to better read my dog so that I can anticipate and therefor redirect his behavior. I am so grateful of all I learned because I will be able to apply it to all of my future dogs. I have already recommended Leah to a friend whom is now working with her and glad for it. If you stay committed to Leahs instructions and techniques you will so how worth it, it all is."
